The Levellers postpone Margate Dreamland show after death of drummer Charlie Heather's son

The Levellers have postponed their gig at Dreamland in Margate after drummer Charlie Heather's teenage son was killed in a road accident.

Alfie Harbord, 15, died after he was struck by a bus in the band's hometown of Brighton last Saturday.

He suffered a fatal head injury in the incident in the early hours of the morning.

The band had been due to appear at Dreamland on June 14, but have now cancelled. They revealed the show, which will be rescheduled, would have taken place on what would have been Alfie's 16th birthday.

In a statement, they told fans: "Thank you for all your kind words and messages for Charlie and his family - they are all much appreciated.

"We are postponing our Margate show in June, which would have been Alfie’s birthday, to a later date and the release date for our album We The Collective has also been moved."
