A helicopter search was launched after a driver fled the scene of a crash in Ramsgate.

At about 9pm yesterday, police were called to a single-vehicle collision on Sevenscore roundabout.

The driver had left the scene and officers were concerned for his welfare.

A search of the area was carried out with help from the National Police Air Service helicopter.

Contact was made with the man who confirmed he was uninjured.
