Ramsgate: High Street sites to go under the hammer

A derelict plot of land in Ramsgate High Street with planning permission is to go under the hammer.

The site, which has blighted the town for several years, can have up to 14 flats built on it.

Approved plans are for a four-storey building, containing eight two-bedroom flats and six one-bedroom flats.

The 0.17 plot, at 81-85 High Street, has a freehold guide price of £280-290,000.

David Henwood, senior auction valuer, said: "This represents a fantastic opportunity to develop a large block of flats in a central location is Ramsgate.
"There is still a big demand for self-contained properties so this development is likely to attract builders and developers.

"Currently the site if vacant meaning work could begin at once.

"The site is at 81-85 High Street and the proposed building looks attractive and in keeping with the town."

Another central Ramsgate lot to the auctioned by Clive Emson is the ground floor shops at 33-35 and 37 Harbour Street.

The double-fronted shop, most recently trading as The Schoolwear Centre, is close to restaurants, takeaways, bars and a sweet shop.

The guide price is £215-225,000.

A four-storey building with planning permission to create three units is also up for grabs.

The end-terrace property, at 79 High Street, Ramsgate, has a freehold guide price of £185-195,000.

The sales take place on Tuesday, July 24, at the Clive Emson conference centre at the Kent County Showground at 11am.
