Thanet: Full bottles of non-alcoholic wine found dumped in Manston

Black sacks full of bottles of non-alcoholic wine have been found dumped in Thanet.

There is speculation that bottles of Castillo De Salobrena were discarded after it was discovered they were not alcoholic.

Cllr Suzanne Brimm's brother came across the load in Manston, said to be about 20 bags full of hundreds of bottles of the Spanish beverage.

The bags were found dumped along Manston Road (2071191)

She said: "My brother stumbled across the dumped bottles of wine this morning in two places along Manston Road.

"It's non-alcoholic wine.

"It's not come from either of the two pubs at St Nicholas-at-Wade which were burgled recently.

"It seems a bit dodgy, and the police have been contacted, who are attending the two sites."

A police spokesman said: "Police received a report at 3.57pm on Thursday, May 17 that a quantity of non-alcoholic beer and wine had been found on a grass verge in Manston.

"Officers attended the scene and following enquiries, the matter has been passed to the council to look into."
