Police were called following fears of a man potentially brandishing a knife.

They arrived at the seafront area of Margate found the man, discovered he was unarmed and let him go.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police received a report stating a man may have been seen in possession of a knife in Marine Drive at 1.11pm.

“Officers attend the area and at around 1.40pm they located the man.

“No knife was located and the man was allowed to leave.”
