Motorcyclist airlifted to William Harvey Hospital after crash in Wilfred Road, Ramsgate

A man has been airlifted to hospital after a collision involving two cars and a motorbike near Ramsgate train station.

South East Coast Ambulance spokesman Rich Airey said: "SECAMB were called just after 2.30pm to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a car.

"Two ambulances and two paramedic cars were sent and the motorcyclist suffered leg and shoulder injuries.

"He has been airlifted to William Harvey Hospital."

Rita Suter was in the passenger seat when the motorbike hit the right-hand side of her husband's car.

She said: "The smash made such a noise and it happened at such a speed, we had just started to turn in and I couldn't believe the force.

"He (the motorcyclist) went over onto the red parked car, the bike fell in front of it and he hit the wall on the pavement."

Kent Police spokesman Jon Green said: "Kent Police was called at 2.36pm by SECAMB to a road traffic collision.

"Officers put a road closure on Wilfred Road and Stagecoach were advised.

"The road was all clear and reopened at 4.15pm."
