A man has been taken to hospital after coming off his scooter in Ramsgate.

Police received a call about the incident at 12.51pm today and closed West Cliff Road so the man could be treated.

Ambulance crews attended the scene and the level of the man's injuries are currently unknown.

Police spokesman Adam Westgarth said: "Secamb attended and officers were required to assist with a temporary road closure whilst the man was treated for his injuries.

"The road was reopened and the man taken to a local hospital by 1.48pm."
