“He fell on the floor in his leopard onesie, he got up and left the shop. He started to hit other people in the street outside.

“I’ve had four heart attacks, a stroke and a heart bypass, but I wasn’t letting him get the better of me.

“All the staff helped me back up afterwards and I think the man was arrested outside.”

The alleged attack happened between 9am and 9.30am on Thursday.

Police spokesman Jon Green said: “I can confirm a 48-year-old man who was wearing a leopard print onesie was arrested after an incident in Ramsgate.

“He was questioned by police at Margate Police Station but was subsequently released without charge.”
