Real-life Rapunzel: Faith from Ramsgate donates hair to Little Princess Trust

A real-life Rapunzel from Ramsgate has donated one foot of her hair to a charity which makes wigs for children suffering with cancer.

Faith Cunningham has always said she would like to have hair like the character, but yesterday the eight-year-old went to Obsessions Hair to get her 25-inch long hair cut.

The idea to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust came after Faith spoke to her mum about making wigs for others who have suffered hair loss through illness.

Faith’s mum, Kelly Cunningham, said: “The haircut went really well, I was a bit heartbroken when she got it cut because I have always wanted a girl with long hair but she is doing a really good thing.

“Faith loved it when she was getting it cut, she had a big smile on her face the whole time.”

Alongside donating her hair, Faith has raised more than £270 to give to the charity and has a target to reach of £350.

The charity provides the wigs for free but each one costs £350 which is why it needs hair donations.
