Thanet Sports Awards celebrate high level achievement and those who show extraordinary enthusiasm and dedication.

The awards are described by Cllr Iris Johnston, cabinet member for community services, as “a fantastic opportunity to reward all the hard work that voluntary clubs, schools, volunteers and performers put into local sport”.

Local business and other organisations also have the chance to sponsor the awards which are in their fifth year, organsised by Thanet District Council’s Sports Matters team in partnership with the Thanet Sports Network.

Online nominations are available on www.thanet.gov.uk/sportsawards until midnight on Friday, October 11. Nominees must be Thanet residents or members of Thanet-based clubs and schools, and nominations must be for the period covering September 1, 2012, to September 1, 2013.
