Former radio presenter Ricky Neville, 49, jailed for sex offences

A former radio presenter and public sex “addict” has been jailed for four years and banned from going to parks, churchyards and wooded areas.

Last year Ricky Neville was given a similar order after a court heard of his compulsion for flashing and committing sex acts in public.

But within weeks of being released from a jail sentence, the 49-year-old was spotted lurking near a Thanet school, where he frightened two women as he skulked nearby.

Now a judge has told Neville, whose convictions date back to 1991: “You have shown a complete disregard for court orders, and showing yourself to be either unwilling or incapable of obeying orders.

“You were spying on one of the ladies. Even though she couldn’t see what you were doing it left her shaken. You hid behind a tree. You returned a week later and you were seen again lurking around.”

Prosecutor Eloise Marshall told Canterbury Crown Court that after being confronted by the victims Neville managed to escape.

Judge Rupert Lowe said Neville had an addiction to public sex behaviour and jailed him for breaching a Sexual Offences Behaviour Order.

Twice married Neville, formerly of Grosvenor Place, Margate, now has 42 convictions, including 22 for sex offences.

He has a prolific history of committing offences of exposure or outraging public decency and has been sentenced to various orders, including prison and community penalties with a view to rehabilitation.

PC Sarah Stanford said: "Neville repeatedly offends and this is not the first time he has breached an order imposed by the court.

"He has shown complete disregard for any of the restrictions that have been placed upon him and absolutely terrified an innocent woman in the process.

"Crimes which see victims feeling too upset and worried to leave their house is absolutely unacceptable. Everyone should feel safe to go to work and carry on their daily lives. No one should have to make special arrangements to avoid being subjected to disturbing acts like this."
