Police were called to reports of a man behaving suspiciously around children.

Officers attended Belgrave Road in Margate following concerned calls to police at about 7pm last night.

The man reportedly spoke to a number of people, including some children, before getting in a vehicle and driving away.

No physical contact was reported.

In a separate incident, police attended a report of a disturbance at Grosvenor Place, Margate, at around 9.20pm and arrested a 56-year-old man from the town on suspicion of drink-driving, assault and affray.

He remains in custody.

A 29 year old man was also arrested on suspicion of assault.
