Men arrested in Kent on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences

Two men have been arrested in Kent on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences.

One of the men, aged 26, was apprehended in an unnamed location in the county on Thursday.

He is being questioned by detectives from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit, along with a 21-year-old arrested in Sheffield and a 19-year-old from Coventry.

The other Kent suspect, a 32-year-old who was taken into custody in Margate on Friday, has been released on bail until Saturday.

Police confirmed the arrests were "pre-planned and intelligence-led" and there was no safety threat.
