Colour, music, crafts and stories were whipped up for this year’s Summer Squall festival in Ramsgate.

Thousands of visitors headed to the town over the bank holiday weekend for the festivities organised by volunteer group Ramsgate Arts. The 51 events across 18 different venues around the town included live bands, workshops, writing and poetry competitions, theatre and a market in the harbour selling handicrafts.

And artists welcomed visitors to their workshops as part of the Open Studios exhibition.

The celebrations ended with a parade of colour and music at the seafront before the burning of a boat on Ramsgate Main Sands and a barbecue on the beach.
