Northdown Road in Margate closed after three vehicle crash

Emergency services are dealing with a crash involving three vehicles in Margate this afternoon.

Police were called shortly after 2.15pm to the smash on Northdown Road which remains shut - but there are not believed to be any serious injuries.

The fire service said they were called but none of the casualties were trapped in any of the vehicles.

A spokesman for police said: " The road is currently closed while emergency services deal with the incident.

"There are not believed to be any serious injuries in this collision."

Several police cars are reported to be at the scene and are joined by an ambulance and fire engine.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to an RTC involving three cars at Northdown Road, Margate to assist police.

"No one was a trapped. Ambulance and police were also at the scene.

"Fire crews assisted in making the area safe before leaving at 2.52pm."
