Ramsgate: Three arrested after alleged rape

A third man has been arrested by detectives investigating an alleged rape in Ramsgate.

The attack is said to have taken place at an address in the Northwood Road area of the town between 3.24am and 5.13am on Sunday.

A 37-year-old man from Ramsgate and an 18-year-old man from Margate were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of rape, and bailed until September 27.

A third man, aged 20, from Canterbury, was arrested today and remains in police custody.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area.

Investigating officer DI Richard Vickery said: "We believe the victim was at Ramsgate railway station in the early hours of Sunday morning and then set off towards Northwood Road.

"Inquiries are under way to establish the exact circumstances of the incident but we are keen to hear from anyone in that area of the town who saw anything suspicious."
