Man and woman killed in crash on A299 Hengist Way

A man and woman have died after a crash involving a van on the A299 at Minster.

Police are seeking witnesses following the crash on the dual carriageway between Minster and Cliffsend at just after 9pm last night.

It involved a white Mercedes Sprinter van, which was travelling in the direction of Ramsgate and a white Toyota Aygo.

The Aygo was stopped behind a blue Renault Clio, and the occupants were standing near the vehicle when they were hit.

They died shortly afterwards.

Officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Minster, Thanet, are appealing for information.

They were a 49-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, from the Broadstairs area.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the accident, or the vehicles in the moments before the crash, which was near the former Manston Airport.
