Two in hospital after crash in Ramsgate Road, Margate

A man and woman have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being cut free from their cars in Margate.

The crash, which happened in Ramsgate Road at about 8.30am, involved a Citroen Picasso and a Seat Ibiza.

The road was shut while vehicles were recovered, but has now reopened.

Police spokesman Amanda Wills said: "Police were called at 8.29am on Tuesday, April 12, to a two vehicle road traffic collision in Ramsgate Road at the junction with Nash Lane.

"The female driver of the Picasso and the male driver of the Ibiza were both taken to hospital with serious injuries."

Firefighters attended the scene and had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to help free the two casualties that were trapped.
