Lloyd Blackman says Ramsgate's squad deserve another chance after in-form finish to season

Lloyd Blackman says two major factors will play a part in any summer signings at Ramsgate.

The Southwood head coach has recalled Jack Paxman from a season-long loan at Deal, confirmed he won’t be renewing central defender Kane Smith’s contract, and is waiting on a decision from Macauley Murray about whether he will commit for next season.

Blackman said: “I am looking at two or three players but they have to fit in with the group dynamic and will they improve us?”

He added: “The rest of the boys have all agreed terms and have earned their opportunity because they know how well they performed in the second half of the season and could achieve big things.”

Paxman re-joins twin brother Alfie at Southwood.

Blackman added: “I watched Jack two or three times playing for Deal and he was exceptional.

“He played right wing-back, but offers a bit of versatility, because he can play in two or three positions down that side.

“Jack’s technical ability is superb and has benefited from his time at Deal.

"Both boys are competitive and strong and don’t shirk anything.”

Paxman spent the second half of the season with Smith at the Charles Ground but work commitments affect the latter's availability,

Blackman has invited him back for pre-season training.
