Margate manager Nikki Bull says he expects his squad to be much changed for the FA Trophy tie against East Thurrock United

Nikki Bull is preparing himself for a day of frantic wheeling and dealing with players expected both in and out at Hartsdown.

The Gate boss says he expects as many as three of his squad to be gone by the weekend, but is working hard to bring in replacements ahead of the home FA Trophy third qualifying round tie with East Thurrock United on Saturday.

Co-chairman designate Alistair Bayliss revealed in an interview on Wednesday that there is 'less than no money left,' but Bull said while his priority remains to reduce the club's wage bill, there are still players out there who find the prospect of playing in Conference South attractive.

He explained: "I expect three of the squad to be gone within the next couple of days but we will also be looking to bring several in.

"I spent all day Wednesday talking to agents and there are players out there looking for a chance to play in Conference South. I think Thursday is going to be a day of ins and outs. "

Bull's most recent additon is Charles Banya and he said the ex-Maidstone winger's performance on his debut in Tuesday's 2-1defeat at Eastbourne Borough was a high point on a night when Alex Osborn, Chris Sessegnon and all Brett Johnson suffered injuries.

Bull added: "Charles was exceptional on Tuesday. He knows what the situation is here but he's come in with a great attitude.

"He's another one for whom this is a chance to put himself in the shop window. He spent pre-season at Woking but they wanted to turn him into a left-back.

"Things did not work out for him there but he knows if he has two or three games like the one at Eastbourne clubs will take notice. "

Of the injuries sustained at Eastbourne, Sessegnon's broken elbow - suffered when Gate keeper Jon Henly caught him with his knee coming for a cross - is the most serious.

The 23-year-old full-back will find out on Thursday whether he needs an operation but Bull reckons he will be out for four to six weeks either way.

He added: "They said initially that he would need an operation but when they re-x-rayed him with the cast on they thought it could be corrected without one. He's seeing a specialist today so hopefully we will know more after that."

Winger Osborn (ankle) and defender Brett Johnson (hamstring) both face a couple of weeks out though Bull revealed Osborn's injury hasn't stopped clubs being interested in the player.

Striker Marcel Barrington missed the Eastbourne game with a groin problem while midfielder Scott Donnelly - available after a recent knee op - is unlikely to figure on Saturday but could make the bench for Tuesday's re-arranged home league game with St Albans.

Margate's Kent Reliance Senior Cup quarter-final at home to Charlton will be played at Hartsdown Park on Wednesday, December 14 (kick-off at 7.45pm).
