Margate striker Christian Jolley says goals will come as he looks to break his duck against Whitehawk

Christian Jolley is promising no special celebration when his goal famine finally ends.

The 27-year-old Margate striker thought it was over late in the 4-1 win over Havant & Waterlooville last week, only to see it ruled out for offside by assistant referee Dele Sotimrin.

He still managed to the funny side of it with the official as he left the ground while Jolley was talking to the media after the game but admitted: "I was keen to see it again, I was stretching for the ball, so I can't see how I was offside.

"It will come, I can't fight it anymore, but when it does come I am not planning anything special to celebrate. I will probably be shocked that it went in.

He added: "It is all down to fine margins, the amount of times I have hit the post and bar this season and keepers pulling off brilliant saves.

""Little things like that are the difference with me being on five or six for the season where I wanted to be, and not getting anything.

"I am happy I got 90 minutes against Havant, worked hard and hope I can get stronger from it.

"The boys were rocking afterwards, because we have all been grafting, and getting our first league win was just our just desserts."
