Margate sign former AFC Wimbledon and Ebbsfleet United striker Luke Moore and wing-back Jack Bennett from Hendon

Terry Brown has continued his overhaul of Margate's squad by signing Luke Moore and Jack Bennett.

Former Ebbsfleet United striker Moore, 26, has joined the Gate after being released from League 2 side AFC Wimbledon, while 23-year-old wing-back Bennett moves to Hartsdown Park from Hendon. Both players have signed two-year deals.

Moore signed for AFC Wimbledon from Ebbsfleet in 2009 and was part of the Dons squad which won promotion to the Football League. THe also had the distinction of scoring their first goal in the League Cup.

Brown admitted he was delighted to be working with him again. He said: “I am delighted to sign Luke again. He is a Kent lad that can play up front or in any attacking midfield role. He is a gifted player with a great eye for goal."

Of Bennett, who played 49 times in total for Hendon last season, in the Ryman League Premier Division, Moore said: “Jack is incredibly quick. He is a young talented left sided player who first caught my eye when he tore us apart in the final 20 minutes at Hartsdown Park in January. He is another fantastic addition to an already talented squad”.
