Margate's former Tonbridge and Bromley midfielder Lewis Taylor joins Kingstonian

Lewis Taylor has become the latest player to leave Margate.

The 30-year-old midfielder has signed for Ryman League Premier Division side Kingstonian.

Taylor - who was also believed to be a target for Leatherhead and Tonbridge - was Margate Supporters' player-of-the-year last season and manager Nikki Bull says he leaves Hartsdown with the best wishes of everyone there.

Bull added: "Lewis will probably go down as one of Margate's best players over the last 10 years but he just feels the time is right for him to move on.

"He said this wasn't what he signed up for (when he agreed to stay in the summer) and I understand that. He's been a quality player for this club and I know everyone wishes him well for the future."

Croydon-born Taylor was signed for the Blues by Terry Brown during the summer of 2014 and emerged as a key figure in their promotion from the Ryman League Premier Division via the play-offs.

He had begun his career in the youth system at Fulham and enjoyed two spells with AFC Wimbledon as well as playing for a host of other clubs including Whyteleafe, Whitehawk, Horsham, Carshalton, Bromley, Hampton & Richmond and Tonbridge for whom he scored the winning goal in their 4-3 win over Lowestoft in the Ryman League Premier Division play-off final in 2010/11.

Teenage

utility player Alfie Foster has signed a contract with the Blues until the end of the 2016/17 season.

Foster, who was a member of Gate's under-18 squad last season, has featured several times from the bench this term and was man of the match in the 1-1 FA Trophy draw at home to East Thurrock in November.
