Margate striker Jamie Taylor makes loan move to Blues' Vanarama National League South rivals Eastbourne Borough

Margate striker Jamie Taylor has joined Vanarama National League South side Eastbourne Borough on a 28-day loan deal.

Taylor was a key member of the Gate squad which won promotion from the Ryman League Premier Division last season but has struggled to break into the side since Nikki Bull succeeded Terry Brown as manager in December.

Boss Bull reckons Taylor will benefit from game time with Eastbourne and the striker himself has fond memories of Boro's Priory Lane ground having scored twice there during Margate's 4-1 league win in September.

Boss Bull said: “When I got the job I promised all the players that they would get a chance to play but unfortunately with the form of Freddie (Ladapo) and the way we play that hasn’t been possible.

“Jamie doesn’t want to leave the club but knows he will benefit from a month of games and come back here to put pressure on Freddie."

Taylor is due to return to Hartsdown Park in time for the club's away fixture at Sutton United on Saturday, February 27, but will be unable to play for Boro when they visit Hartsdown Park on Tuesday, February 23.
