Steve Watt and Steve Brown in for the long haul at Margate after signing two-year contract extensions

Margate have announced Steve Watt and Steve Brown have both signed two-year contract extensions keeping them at the club until the end of the 2018/19 season.

The news is the latest major announcement by the club's new owners, with the promise of more to come in the next few weeks.

Watt was appointed in February, following the departure of Nikki Bull, linking up with Brown who was already working at the club as assistant manager.

Chairman Alistair Bayliss is delighted that both men have committed their futures at Hartsdown Park.

“It is fantastic that both Steve Watt and Steve Brown have put pen to paper for a minimum of two years. This will enable them to bring in their type of players knowing they’re both going to be part of this project long term”.

“The new owners have already shown their commitment to the project at Hartsdown Park by installing a new 3G pitch and there will be plenty more announcements over the coming weeks regarding other areas of the club as well as a couple of fantastic signings we hope to complete now that Steve is back from holiday”.

“There is no doubt in my mind that this club will be moving forward at an accelerated speed and supporters and sponsors should be looking forward to the future of Margate FC”.
