Hornby signs up Schumacher to Scalextric range

Seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher is to
star in a new range of products from Margate-based Hornby
Hobbies.
Scalextric fans will be able to race as the German star, who
makes a sensational return to the sport with the Mercedes GP
Petronas team this weekend.
The team was borne of reigining constructors' champions Brawn
GP, with whom Jenson Button secured the drivers' title last
season.
Paul Chandler, marketing manager for Scalextric, said: "We
enjoyed a successful partnership with Brawn GP in 2009 and we're
pleased to be working with Mercedes GP Petronas this year. We're
looking forward to an exciting 2010, with some fantastic new
products set to go on sale."
Schumacher's new team-mate and compatriot Nico Rosberg will also
feature in Hornby's new Scalextric range.
The company, which has its factory on the Westwood Industrial
Estate, plans to release its 1:64 scale GP Legends and 1:32 scale
Race of Champions sets later this year.
