Harry Hudson, seven, and his mum Katie
A mum has thanked the owner of the dog who bit her young son for coming forward and accepting responsibility.
Kent Police received numerous calls after the Thanet Extra highlighted an incident in which Harry Hudson, seven, was bitten by a Staffordshire bull terrier and left with severe bruising.
He had been out cycling with dad Kevin on a narrow path across fields between Westgate and Garlinge. Harry had stopped on his bike and waited for the dog - out with two people and another dog - to pass. Without warning, the animal had lunged at him and grabbed his thigh, leaving some grazing and marked bruising.
Mum Katie said the owner had contacted the police after reading about Harry’s injury in the Thanet Extra.
Mrs Hudson said: “To be fair, the owner was quite shocked at Harry’s injuries, and admits where the fault was."
