Thanet Colts FC changing room mural
Volunteers at a Margate football school made it their goal to add a splash of colour to their surroundings.
Thanet Colts Football Club which meets at Hartsdown Academy on Hartsdown Road, teaches 27 teams of local girls and boys.
The club’s changing rooms were in need of brightening up to make them more welcoming to young people and volunteers chose a football-themed mural.
The mural is inspired by the view from the stands at a football stadium, with a crowd overlooking the pitch, cheering and waving flags.
Colts vice-chairman Dave Marlow said: “Painting this mural in our changing rooms has really helped to inspire the children. It helps get them excited before every game and that’s exactly what we like to see.
“We like the idea of the painted crowd always cheering our football stars on.”
The paint was donated from Dulux’s Let’s Colour project.
The club, which was established in 1992, is the largest in the East Kent Youth League with more than 25 teams and six successful girls’ teams.
