Man held after rape allegation

Police are investigating the suspected rape of an 18-year-old woman in Sheerness.

It is believed the woman was attacked  in an alleyway between Alexandra Road and Clyde Street just after 12.30am on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Kent Police said a 20-year-old man has been arrested and was helping police with their enquiries.

Anyone who has any information about the incident is urged to contact acting
inspector Tristan Stevens at Sittingbourne police station.
