Cold, with more snow on the way!

Snow falls in High Street, SheernessIt’s felt chilly for a few days now and it looks like we could be seeing more than just a dusting of the white stuff.

There were a few light snow showers on the Island on Tuesday and according to Sheppey’s own weather oracle, there is more on the way.

Darren Prescott says we are likely to see a dip in temperatures today with some light snow showers blowing over.

By tomorrow (Thursday), there will be a biting easterly wind, with it only being a degree or two above freezing. The cold air combined with warmish sea temperatures is likely to set off a few heavy snow showers.

Friday looks set to be generally dry with sunny spells, but it will still feel very cold.

Mr Prescott says the weekend weather at the moment looks to be pretty cold with a chance of snow.

The IT technician at Sittingbourne’s Westlands School, who monitors the weather from his home in Bay View, said: “The cold spell is now well under way and there have already been a few light snow showers over Sheppey.”
