Owner's concern after his dog is hit by bus in Sheerness

Bella, who was hit by a bus after running into the road in Marine Parade, Sheerness, on ThursdayA pet owner has become increasingly concerned for the welfare of his dog, after it was hit by a bus and ran off.

Stephen Tom Hook watched helplessly as beloved pet Bella ran out of his Marine Parade, Sheerness, home yesterday at around 10am.

It ran out onto the road and into the path of a bus. Disorientated, it then headed off down Richmond Street.

Worried Mr Hook has been leafleting around town and has visited vets around the Island to see if the four-year-old canine has been handed in.

So far he has heard Bella was sighted in Marine Parade being picked up and put in a light blue car.

The 26-year-old said: "My biggest fear is someone has picked her up and not taken her to the vet and she might have internal injuries. She's definitely been hurt."

Mr Hook has put up a reward of £100 for information that leads to his dog's safe return.

  • Anyone with any information can contact Mr Hook on 01795 511912 or 07926 644596. Leaflets handed out on Thursday have an incorrect number.
