Sheppey Gateway in Sheerness joined together with its partners to hold an event called New Year, New You, on Thursday.
NHS health trainers were there checking people’s cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure, sexual health advice was available and there was smoothie tasting with flavours including melon and pineapple by mental health charity Sheppey Your Way.

Demonstrations of Just Jhoom, which is an Indian dance inspired exercise, were given and the Sustainable Sheppey team was updating visitors on its projects.
Hair and beauty students from Canterbury College Swale Campus were also there giving free treatments and representatives from the Citizens Advice Bureau were on hand to give advice about debt and other issues.
Gateway coordinator Sarah-Jane Radley said: “It was really positive.
“We had more than 50 people come along – there was a queue for the health checks which are always popular.
“New Year, New You, was a way to encourage people to live a more healthy lifestyle.”
