Man arrested after spate of arson attacks in Tonbridge

A man has been arrested after spate of arson attacks.

During December 2016 a series of suspicious fires were reported in the Tonbridge area.

These incidents caused damage to properties and parked vehicles in areas including Crabapple Road, Cannons Lane, Redbud Road, and Medway Wharf Road.

A 46-year-old man from the Tonbridge area has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

He has been bailed pending further inquires until March 22.

Detective Constable Marc Symonds said: "We are continuing to appeal for any information which may assist our investigation into these incidents and I would like to thank anyone who has already been in touch.

"At this stage we are now really keen to speak to the man pictured in these CCTV images. If you recognise him please don’t hesitate to call us."
