Brands Hatch 'gatecrasher' Jack Cottle, of Durgates in Wadhurst appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court

A man alleged to have gatecrashed Brands Hatch in the middle of a race appeared in court this afternoon.

Jack Cottle, 21, is accused of driving on to the track in a silver Volkswagen Polo during a high-speed race on Sunday, June 15.

Cottle, of Durgates in Wadhurst in East Sussex, allegedly bypassed security to get onto the former Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit during the four-hour Volkswagen Fun Cup Race.

He has been charged with causing a public nuisance and stood before Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court earlier today.

He did not enter a plea and has been bailed until he is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, October 10.
