Crash splits telegraph poll in half and closes road near Tonbridge

Drivers had to contend with hours of disruption following an accident which left a vehicle blocking the road, a telegraph pole split in half, and a fuel spillage.

Two fire engines were sent just before 9am to Goudhurst Road, Horsmonden, where a car had crashed blocking the road.

It was closed until shortly after 3pm to recover the vehicle and clear debris and a petrol spillage.

The driver was taken into the care of SECAmb, but no serious injuries have been reported.

Police also attended and officers kept the road closed for safety reasons before handing over to Kent County Council Highways at around 1.30pm.
