A busy road was closed in both directions following a crash between two cars.
It happened on the A26 Tonbridge Road near the Hadlow Manor Hotel between the junctions of Common Road and Cemetry Lane at around 5.05pm.
Emergency services reported extensive damage to the carriageway following a vehicle fire.
The road did not reopen until around 7.40pm.
