Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Cllr Sasha Luck joined children taking part in Summer Activate for their cupcake workshop

A cupcake workshop welcomed the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling to join children in making some summer cakes and cookies.

Cllr Sasha Luck baked alongside eleven children who were attending the borough's Summer Activate programme at Wrotham School.

Local chef, Mags Murray from Little Stirrers, supervised the day and spent the afternoon of Wednesday, July 30, giving advice on how to make a light and tasty sponge mixture as well as top tips on how to create eye-catching designs using colourful icing.

Cllr Sasha Luck said: “Cupcakes are certainly top of the pops when it comes to baking and I was so pleased they allowed me to have a go too!

"The children really enjoyed the whole process but perhaps putting on the icing, and licking the spoon, of course, was the best bit.

"Then we had the pleasure of sampling our wares although it did mean there were not as many cupcakes for everyone to take home!”
