Tonbridge watch manager Derek Patey said: “Around 20 per cent of the incidents we attend are road crashes, and all too often involve casualties that are trapped with serious life-threatening or fatal injuries.

"The display has been set up to prompt drivers to be more cautious, to think about the risks that can lead to becoming involved in a car crash and to take extra care on the road.”

Kent Fire and Rescue Service will be visiting local communities offering advice and information on staying safe on the road.

Crews will highlight the dangers of distractions whilst driving, the importance of wearing seatbelts as well as talking with younger drivers about the risks of being involved in a collision due to inexperience.
