A motorcyclist was injured in a suspected hit and run on the A21.

The biker was knocked over by a black BMW which is then said to have fled the scene.

There were long delays on the north-bound carriageway of the Tonbridge by-pass while emergency crews dealt with the incident, which happened near to the Morley's Road turnoff for Sevenoaks.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called just after 5.45pm to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and black BMW.

"The motorcyclist came off his bike and was taken to hospital by SECAmb.

"The BMW drove off without stopping and police are making enquiries.

"The road was closed until 8.20pm."
