Tonbridge: South East Water announce new scheme off Lodge Oak Lane

South East Water have announced details of a new £232,000 scheme for a new water main.

The water main will be installed in Tonbridge to improve the supply to current properties and allow for future development.

The first phase of the scheme is due to start on Monday, July 25. It will see 260 metres of pipe laid along part of Lodge Oak Lane.

The pipe will run from the junction with Hectorage Road to the junction with Dowgate Close.

This first phase is expected to take six weeks to complete.

Phase two of the plan begins on Friday, September 2. Workers will install 150 metres of pipe along Priory Road, again near the junction with Hectorage Road.

This is due to be finished by the middle of October.

The final phase of the project will run between Wednesday, October 12, and the middle of December.

This will involve laying 335 metres of pipe along Gorham Drive and Farm Ground Close.

South East Water have said that access to homes and businesses will not be affected by the works.

Temporary traffic lights will be used to allow drivers to continuing using the routes.

Chris Love, Development Manager at South East Water, said: “Our investment in this important scheme is necessary to improve the capacity of the network and ensure we can continue to maintain water pressure to the area as the community grows.”
