Officers investigating a serious crash near Tonbridge are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured after being hit by another car on the hard shoulder of the A21.
The incident happened on the southbound carriageway where the road meets the A26 exit slip, at about 3.55pm yesterday.
A 63-year-old man driving a white Peugeot Partner van had stopped on the hard shoulder and got out of his vehicle to help a colleague in a white Peugeot Bipper van who had broken down.
The man was then hit by a white Ford Transit Connect, leaving him with multiple injuries.
He was airlifted to a London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Officers investigating the smash would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
Witnesses are urged to call the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538 quoting reference 12-0864.
