A young boy was left with a fractured skull and brain injuries after his dad crashed his car while rowing with his wife.

Now father Krisoffer Keeves is facing sentence after admitting causing the serious injury to his young son by dangerous driving.

Keeves’ Renault Laguna hit a Mercedes car in Badsell Road, Paddock Wood, on June 5 last year.

Prosecutor Paul Valder said Keeves was speeding on the road which had recently been resurfaced and had a temporary 20mph limit in force.

The 31-year-old, of Brionne Gardens, Tonbridge, admitted at the scene that he and his wife had been arguing before he lost control of the car. Excess alcohol was also involved.

Their son William, who was 22 months at the time, suffered a fractured skull and brain injury.

He was taken to London’s Kings College Hospital with his mother and is still receiving treatment.

“The recent prognosis is much more positive than the paediatrician’s report and the (court) papers would suggest,” Mr Valder told Maidstone Crown Court.

Judge Martin Joy adjourned sentence for reports until May 7. An interim driving ban was imposed on Keeves.

“By adjourning for a pre-sentence report, it is not an indication other than to know more about you,” he said.
