Tonbridge: Three charged in connection with cash robbery

Officers investigating a reported robbery of cash from a van have charged two men and a woman.

Kent Police was called at around 7am on Monday, August 28, 2017, concerning a report that a quantity of cash had been stolen from a van when it stopped on the coastbound carriageway of the A21 between the M25 junction and Morley’s roundabout near Tonbridge.

On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate arrested Jimmy Doolly, 34, of Ninehams Road, Caterham; William Williams, 42, of Westway, Caterham; and Janet Pryde, 58, of Newstead Rise, Caterham on suspicion of theft.

On February 22, all three were charged with conspiracy to steal between July 1, 2017, and August 29, 2017.

Williams was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon for the discharged of a noxious liquid, possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate, production of cannabis and possession of cannabis resin.

They have been bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 21.
