Tonbridge man, Tim Kiddell, ran 85 continuous miles in 26 hours in aid of Latin Link

He endured floods, blisters, sore feet, bee-stings and sodden clothing, but an East Peckham man ran a continuous 85 miles in 26 hours.

Tim Kiddell, of Henman Gardens, aimed to run 100 continuous miles over 24 hours in aid of charity Latin Link, but due to weather conditions and a range of hurdles he was unable to complete the entire journey.

Having set off on Saturday July 12th at 5pm, Tim finished his run on Sunday July 13th at 7pm, a staggering 26 hours later.

Mr Kiddell, said: “I’m not going to be put off. With better weather I’ll be back again to seek to conquer 100 miles.

“This Challenge was not a race against anyone but an individual test of resolve and determination. I was delighted to run for Latin Link.”

The dad-of-four, completed his first-ever London Marathon in 1984, and has been an ultra-marathon runner since 2012.

Latin Link is a Christian mission agency with a passion for mission in and from Latin America and Jonathan Leeson, the charity’s area representative for the South of England, whom Tim helped train for last year’s Tonbridge Half Marathon joined him on his final lap.

Mr Kiddell is still seeking sponsorship from local businesses and individuals for his Kent Challenge Hub 100-mile run attempt as he wants to raise £1,500.
