Tonbridge prepares for annual carnival organised by Tonbridge Lions Club

Tonbridge town centre will be full of excitement this month when an annual carnival takes to the streets.

This year's theme is 'Cartoon Capers' so you can expect to see local interpretations of all your favourite cartoon characters.

In addition to the carnival procession there will be a fete on the Castle Lawn and along Castle Walk.

On Sunday, June 21, the Bacchus Wind Orchestra will play by the Watergate entrance from 11.45am to 12.45pm.

The procession will again be preceded at 12.15 pm by the Southern England Marching Band Competition with the bands parading up the High Street.

The winner will also perform in the fete arena on the castle lawn later in the afternoon.

Hot and cold food, drinks and ice creams will also be on sale.

The carnival is organised annually by Tonbridge Lions Club with the support of Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council.

Proceeds from the day will help those who are in need or disadvantaged in our local community.
