Voyeur Jack Eldred secretly filmed woman dressing at her Tunbridge Wells flat

A pervert planted a secret camera at a woman’s home and filmed her getting dressed after taking a shower, a court heard.

Jack Eldred kept the film clips on his mobile phone and they were recovered when he was arrested.

Prosecutor Vivian Walters said the film showed the woman naked, drying herself and using talc on her body at her flat in the Tunbridge Wells area.

Eldred, 22, took screen shots of the most intimate parts of the recordings and stored them on his phone.

“There is no dispute he made the recordings,” Miss Walters told a jury at Maidstone Crown Court.

He was wearing a hoodie as he smiled directly at the camera and gave a thumbs up sign with both hands.

Eldred later sent the victim some of the shots on Facebook and threatened to forward them to her boyfriend.

Miss Walters said it was not necessary to show jurors the footage, but gave a detailed description of what it contained. One of the clips was 23 minutes long.

“She has seen the footage,” said Miss Walters. “It has sound on it. She confirms that at the time she had no idea there was a camera set up and she was being filmed.”

Eldred, of Audley Avenue, Tonbridge, denied two charges of voyeurism in February last year but was convicted after the jury deliberated for almost seven hours.

Having suffered brain damage in a serious road accident in April last year, he was allowed to sit outside the dock with an “intermediary” to explain the proceedings to him.

Judge David Griffith-Jones QC adjourned sentence for reports until November 29. Bail was continued.
