Tonbridge boss Steve McKimm can't wait to pit wits against Dartford manager Tony Burman and says players will treat FA Cup clash like a final

Tonbridge Angels will be treating the fourth qualifying round game at the weekend like their own FA Cup final.

A bumper crowd is expected at the Longmead Stadium on Saturday as Steve McKimm’s men take on in-form National League South side Dartford.

Tonbridge last made it to the FA Cup first round proper 44 years ago, and McKimm knows what a tough task it’s going to be this weekend.

He said: “It’s exciting to be pitting our wits against someone as experienced as (Dartford boss) Tony Burman. He has done very well in the game in terms of getting Dartford to the highest level in non-league.

“We’re going to be the underdogs because of the league status of the clubs but we’re one game away from the first round proper and a possible TV game against a Football League side.

“It’s all to play for and it will be like a cup final. We’ll be leaving nothing out on the park.”

Not only would Tonbridge face a possible Football League team with a win - they would also bag £12,500 in prize money to add to the £15,000 that they have already pocketed.

Angels head into the match off the back of a tricky game at Grays last Saturday, which McKimm’s men won 2-0 with goals from Nathan Elder and Luke Blewden.

Nick Wheeler (knee) and Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson (ankle) are both injury doubts.
