Child hit by car on A26 London Road, Southborough

A child has been hit by a car on the A26 London Road at Southborough.

Police and ambulance were called to the busy main road, close to the junction with Speldhurst Road, just after 3.30pm.

A boy, thought to be of secondary school age, was treated at the scene before being taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Pembury.

A police spokesman said the child is not believed to have suffered serious injuries.

The crash caused delays on the A26 and surrounding roads and Kent County Council's Highways team advised drivers to approach with caution and expect delays.
