Jo Brand opens new Applied Psychology unit at Canterbury Christ Church University, Tunbridge Wells

One of the country's top comedian's has visited Kent to open a new university psychology unit.

Jo Brand opened the Salomons Centre at Canterbury Christ Church University's Tunbridge Wells site.

The TV presenter and panellist received an honary doctorate at the university in 2014.

In an interview with KMTV, Ms Brand spoke about how her mother was a social worker and her father suffered with poor mental health.

It comes as one in three sick notes signed by doctors are handed out for mental health conditions.
