A drug dealer who hid 23 wraps of crack cocaine between his buttocks will spend more than two years in jail.

Junior Tchatchoua was stopped by Kent Police in a wooded area off Eridge Road, in Tunbridge Wells.

Officers originally seized £362 in cash, two mobile phones and a cannabis grinder but a full body search at the station uncovered cocaine weighing a total of 4.35 grams.

The substance had an estimated street value of £460 and he was visiting the town from his home in Eltham, London.

While being interviewed by the police Tchatchoua claimed he had travelled to Tunbridge Wells in search of work, adding he had been carrying the cash to do some shopping.

He added after becoming tired of visiting shops to look for employment he went to the wooded area to smoke cannabis.

He then claimed he was a regular user of crack cocaine and that the wraps were for his own personal use.

He added that while he was in the woods he had stumbled across a person who sold him the Class A substances and that he concealed them so they would not be found if he was stopped.

Tchatchoua appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, January 23.

He was sentenced to two years and two months in prison after previously pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Tunbridge Wells Chief Inspector Dave Patesaid: “Tchatchoua tried to evade justice by concocting a story which was utter nonsense.

“The simple reality is that we have managed to put another drug dealer behind bars and I would hope that by now the message is getting through to criminals to stay out of Tunbridge Wells.

“What’s also really pleasing in this case is the vigilance shown by the local community, which helped alert us to Tchatchoua’s activities and I am extremely thankful for the continued assistance of residents in keeping our town a safe place to live.”
